About the place -

Ganapati Gadad, also known as Palu Caves is a series of 6 to 7 caves located near Dhasai Village in Murbad. The word 'Gadad' means caves near itself suggests that these are caves dedicated to Lord Ganesh. These caves are beautifully carved in the rock and during monsoon, many small waterfalls fall off the cliff which forms a white curtain over the caves.  One can enjoy various  streams and waterfalls along an easy route through the dense forest.


Tour Itinerary

itinerary - 

Saturday, 6th Aug 2022 -
  • Meet at Sanjay Gandhi National Park at 10:50 pm Sharp
  • Travel by private Non-AC bus
  • Pick up on the way at Goregaon, Andheri, Bandra, Sion, Thane

Sunday, 7th Aug 2022 - 

  • Reach base village by 4:30 am and rest in the bus
  • Freshen up and have breakfast at 6:30 am
  • Introduction and Instructions
  • Start the trek to Ganapati Gadad by 7:00 am (~ 2 Hrs)
  • Explore caves and enjoy in the waterfall
  • Descend to the base village by 12:30 pm
  • Enjoy local flavor veg meals for Lunch in village house
  • Start return journey by 2:30 pm
  • Reach Mumbai by 8:00 pm (Tentative)

Cost of the trek is Rs. 1,400/- only

Things to be carried
Here is a list of things to be carried for the trek - 

  • Haversack to put in everything to be carried for the trek
  • Water 2 Liters at least
  • Extra set of clothes. Towel / Napkin
  • Some snacks to munch on
  • Torch with extra batteries
  • Personal medicines required if any
  • Identity Proof
  • Mask and Sanitizer
Rules to be followed
Few Rules we would like people follow -


  • Consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, narcotics is strictly not allowed and would lead to expulsion from the trek.
  • Leader's decision will be final and binding to all members. No arguments will be entertained.
  • Each member is responsible for their own safety and baggage.
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold ornaments.
  • Please do not litter. Do not throw plastic, paper, wrappers, bottles etc. Carry them home to throw in the dustbin.
  • We strongly believe in saying - Wherever we go, leave only footprints and take back only memories.
Other Info
It is advisable to wear full sleeve clothes and comfortable trekking shoes.

Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
