About the place -

Badami-

Badami is situated in Bagalkot district of Karnataka and is famous for Hindu & Jain cave temples and rock cut monuments. Badami was the regal capital of the Badami Chalukyas from CE 540 to 757. Badami cave templesBhutanath templesBadami Shivalaya and Jambulingesvara temple are the main attraction in Badami. The caves were once fully painted with natural colours but now most f them are lost. Badami has 18 inscriptions with historical information.

Pattadkal -

Pattadkal is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and has Hindu & Jain temples. Hindu Temples display various Vedic & Puranas Concepts from Ramayana, Mahabharta & Bhagvat Purana. There are ten major temples at Pattadakal, nine Hindu and one Jain. These temples are - Kadasiddheshwara temple, Jambulingeshwara temple, Galaganatha Temple, Chandrashekhara Temple, Sangameshwara Temple, Kashi Vishwanatha Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Papanatha temple, Jain Narayana Temple.

Aihole –

Aihole is a historic site of ancient and medieval era BuddhistHindu and Jain monuments in Karnataka, India. Aihole is a major archaeological site featuring over one hundred and twenty stone and cave temples spread along the Malaprabha river valley, in Bagalakote district of Karnataka. Aihole was an early medieval era meeting place and a cradle for experimentation of Hindu arts, particularly temple architecture. The regional artisans and architects of Aihole region created prototypes of 16 types of free-standing temples and 4 types of rock-cut shrines to express in stone the theology of Hinduism.

Itinerary - 


Friday

Board the 11139, CSMT-Gadag Express from CSMT at 21:20 Hrs


Day 1, Saturday

  • Reach Badami by 10:00 am
  • Transfer to the hotel, check in and freshen up
  • Travel to Pattadkal and Aihole 
  • Explore with guide till Sunset
  • Back to the resort and have dinner
  • Retire for the day

Day 2, Sunday

  • Wake up early by 5:30 am and be ready by 6:00 am
  • Hike to Badami fort to watch Sunrise and explore the fort
  • Have Breakfast
  • Explore Badami cave temple and surrounding area till 12:00 noon
  • Lunch and check out by 1:30 pm
  • Transfer to Badami Railway Station
  • Travel to Mumbai by 11140, Gadag-CSMT Express at 2:40 pm

Day 3, Monday 

  • Reach Mumbai CSMT by 5:10 am

Rules to be followed

Few Rules we would like people follow -


  • Consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, narcotics is strictly not allowed and would lead to expulsion from the trek.
  • Leader's decision will be final and binding to all members. No arguments will be entertained.
  • Each member is responsible for their own safety and baggage.
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold ornaments.
  • Please do not litter. Do not throw plastic, paper, wrappers, bottles etc. Carry them home to throw in the dustbin.
  • We strongly believe in saying - Wherever we go, leave only footprints and take back only memories.

Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing / Rappelling is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
