About the place -
Avchitgad is a fortified hill, about 977 feet high near Roha taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The name Avchitgad, apparently from the Sanskrit avchitta or haste, accords well with its rough style of building. The fort is surrounded by the abundance of flora and fauna and offers a spectacular view of the landscape.
It is understood that the Avchitgad fort was established by the Shilahar Kings and later came under the rule of Nizam of Ahmednagar. The fort was the headquarters of a Subha in the Nizamshahi dynasty of Ahmadnagar. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj reconstructed and fortified the fortress under his control. During the third Anglo-Maratha War, Colonel Prother from the British East India Company conquered Avchitgad from the Peshwas in February 1818 along with the neighbouring Surgad, Sarasgad and Sudhagad.

- Pick up on the way at Goregaon, Andheri, Bandra, Sion, Chembur, Vashi, Kharghar, Panvel

- Reach base village Medha by 9:45 am
- Introduction and instructions
- Start the trek by 10:00 am
- Reach the top by 11:00 am
- Explore the fort and start descend by 12:30 pm
- Back to base village by 1:30 pm
- Lunch
- Travel back to Mumbai by 3:30 pm
- Reach Borivali Mumbai by 8:30 pm

Rules to be followed
Few Rules we would like people follow -
- Consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, narcotics is strictly not allowed and would lead to expulsion from the trek.
- Leader's decision will be final and binding to all members. No arguments will be entertained.
- Each member is responsible for their own safety and baggage.
- Please do not wear any jewellery or gold ornaments.
- Please do not litter. Do not throw plastic, paper, wrappers, bottles etc. Carry them home to throw in the dustbin.
- We strongly believe in saying - Wherever we go, leave only footprints and take back only memories.
