About the place -
Panna National Park is located in Vindhya Mountain range, spread over 542.67 sq kms of area in the Panna and Chhatarpur districts
of Madhya Pradesh in India. In 1994, it was declared as the twenty second Tiger reserve of India and the fifth in Madhya Pradesh. Panna was given the Award of Excellence in 2007 as the best maintained national park of India by the Ministry of Tourism of India. It is notable that by 2009, the entire tiger population had been eliminated by poaching with the collusion of forest department officials. Tigers were relocated from other parks to Panna and with proper monitoring of health and migration of tigers by the forest department, Panna is now home to more than 50 tigers.
Apart from the tiger, it is home to other animals like the leopard, nilgai, chinkara, chousinga, chital, rusty spotted cat, porcupine, and sambhar. Gharials (long snouted crocodiles) and muggers (marsh crocodiles) can be found in River Ken.

- Do not use camera flash while clicking photographs of wild animals and birds.
- Do not litter. Keep the area clean. Carry chocolate wrappers, plastic covers, paper and other waste with you and dump it in the dustbin.
