About the place -


Sarasgad 
fort
 is situated on the borders of Pali, off Mumbai - Goa highway. The fort has

​very ​
good fortification
​, beautifully carved entrance, water cisterns, lake and many caves on top. C
limb on the rock hewn steps
​ is steep and 
​need to climb carefully
​ during monsoon when its sleepary
​
The top of the fort gives a magnificent view of Amba river and the surround region. Forts like Sudhagad, Telbaila, Ghanagad etc, can be seen from top.
​ A temple of Ballaleshwar - one of the  eight important pilgrims in Maharashtra of 
Lord Ganesha's, called '
Ashtavinayak'
 is located at the base of Sarasgad.

Starting Point: Borivali SGNP Gate at 5:30 am
Pick up Points: Goregaon, Bandra, Sion, Chembur, Vashi, Kharghar

  • Travel to the base village - Pali by Private vehicle (~2.5 Hrs)
  • ​
    Visit to the Ballaleshwar Ganesh Temple (~0.25 Hrs) 
  • Breakfast

  • Introduction and Rules and regulations (0.25 Hrs)
  • Start the Trek by 9:30 Hrs
  • Reach the summit by 11:30 Hrs and explore

Rules to be followed

Few rules that we would like people to follow - 

  • Consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, narcotics is strictly now allowed and would lead to expulsion from the trek.
  • Leader's decision will be final and binding to all members. No arguments will be entertained.
  • Each member is responsible for their own safety and baggage.
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold ornaments.
  • Please do not litter. Do not throw plastic, paper, wrappers, bottles etc. Carry them home to throw in the dustbin.
  • We strongly believe in saying - Wherever we go, leave only footprints and take back only memories.
Other Info
It is advisable to wear full sleeve clothes and comfortable trekking shoes.

Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
