About the place -

Chattisgarh is a land of Waterfalls & the most Famous are Chitrakote & Tirathgarh which are surrounded by dense forest. Staying in the tents & enjoying stargazing would be a Brownie point. Ancient Temples, Caves, Waterfalls and dense Forest are main attractions of Bastar.
Another reason for visiting Bastar is the Festival of Dussehra. It is traditionally celebrated for over 10 days by the locals and participating in Rath Yatra would be an experience of it's own. Bastar is worth exploring for its Tribes, Tradition and Cultural diversity. Bastar offers much more that a traveler can imagine.


Tour Itinerary

Itinerary - 


Day 1: Wednesday, 9th October 2024

Arriving in Raipur, Travel from Raipur to Bastar we will Start early to make the most of our day. The journey from Raipur to Bastar takes approximately 5-6 hours by road (around 280 km). Set off to Bastar, our first stop at bastar will be Kanker, we will then move to Keshkal valley to set eyes on the charming aesthetic of the location. Visit Tatamari valley view point.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Chitrakote Waterfalls, As dawn breaks, we'll journey through Tamda Ghumar waterfall, basking in nature's splendor along the way. Our next stop is Mendri Ghumar waterfall. As dusk descends, immerse yourself in the vibrant hues of the evening sky.

Overnight stay at Chitrakote Adventure Camp



Day 2: Thursday, 10th October 2024

Begin your day with a visit to the lower river bank of the Chitrakote Waterfalls. Enjoy a refreshing foot bath in the cool waters, followed by a tranquil boat ride. Experience the serenity of nature and create unforgettable memories amidst the stunning beauty of the falls.

Visit Tribal Artisan village, see the making of Dhokra craft which has some linkages with Harappan civilization. 


Explore the ancient Narayanpal Temple, a 1000-year-old archaeological gem that offers a deep connection to the region's spiritual and historical heritage.

Do the Jagdalpur Heritage walk. Sirhasar square holds a significant place in the history of Bastar. Listen to the Bastar King to know the importance of Dalpat sagar in the lives of local people. Know the connection between Jagdalpur and Dantewada - the reason behind Goddess Danteshwari at both the places.

Explore the Anthropological Museum for tribal artifacts and the Archaeological Museum for ancient sculptures and coins. Stop by the Tourism Information Centre and shop at local craft stores.

Don’t miss experiencing the vibrant Nisha Jatra ritual during Bastar Dussehra, a unique cultural celebration. Witness the arrival of the chariot of Devi Danteshwari and the palanquin of Mawli Mata from Dantewada. At midnight, a sacrifice is performed at Nishagudi. The Raut people bring 24 earthen handi filled with bhog, which are offered at Nishagudi, Mawli Mata Temple, and Danteshwari Temple in Jagdalpur. This profound ritual showcases the rich traditions and spiritual fervor of the Bastar region.

Day 3: Friday, 11th October 2024


Embark on a day of thrilling adventure as we delve into the heart of Bastar's wilderness. Our journey begins with a descent into the Mandarkonta cave nestled within the Kanger Valley National Park. Adorned with mesmerizing stalactites and stalagmites by gypsy safari. Its appealing vista not only delights but makes this spot an admirable place for activities like photography.

Next, we heed the call of Tirathgarh Waterfalls, a majestic three-tiered cascade that beckons adventurers from far and wide. Feel the thundering roar of the falls reverberate through your soul as you stand in awe of nature's raw power. 

Then we will go to experience new water sports Bamboo Rafting. Bamboo Rafting  is an eco-friendly adventure activity that involves floating down the river on a bamboo raft.

We visit the revered Danteshwari Temple in Dantewada, renowned as one of the shakti peeth of India. Here, amidst the tranquil surroundings, we seek the blessings of Goddess Danteshwari, the presiding deity of Bastar. Feel the soul-stirring presence of divinity as we pay homage to the ancient traditions and spiritual significance of this sacred site.

Overnight stay at Dholkal Jungle Camp


Day 4: Saturday, 12th October 2024

Trek through the greens of Dholkal, explore the interesting environs on the way to the hill top and uncover the splendid panorama.

Head on to the Barsur series of temples. These ancient temples are known to be built centuries ago and have been restored and conserved lately. Every temple holds historical, mythical and archaeological significance. 

A local market set up where natives display and sell local items, handicrafts, organic produce etc. The most interesting thing about the setup is, it is not just a commercial set up but is looked upon as an occasion for local people as a weekly get together.

Head back to Chitrakote Adventure Camp for dinner and a refreshing bath. Relish the last moments at the scenic camp.


Day 5: Sunday, 13th October 2024

Take a flight from Raipur and reach home by evening

  • Haversack to put in everything to be carried for the tour

Rules to be followed
Few Rules we would like people follow -


  • Consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, narcotics is strictly not allowed and would lead to expulsion from the trek.
  • Leader's decision will be final and binding to all members. No arguments will be entertained.
  • Each member is responsible for their own safety and baggage.
  • Please do not wear any jewellery or gold ornaments.
  • Please do not litter. Do not throw plastic, paper, wrappers, bottles etc. Carry them home to throw in the dustbin.
  • We strongly believe in saying - Wherever we go, leave only footprints and take back only memories.
Other Info
Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing / Rappelling is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.
